Try or Do?

 Don't try your best, do your best.

      "I will try my best," is something I have said far too much. Lately "trying" has been on my mind, and kind of running my life. Trying to be kind, trying to trust, trying study, trying to train my puppy, trying to eat healthy and the list goes on. Trying, trying, trying, is all I have been accomplishing. In other words, all I have accomplished is stress, exhaustion, and a snappish behavior. None of these things are on my to do list or in my planner. I don't have sticky notes all over that say "be stress," and "try hard but don't finish." Somehow with all the trying I have not truly accomplished anything, at least not in a peaceful or healthy way. I have not failed but I have not succeeded, I have only tried to no avail.

      Instead of trying, I am going to do, do what I can. Doing as much as I can and doing the best I can and being very thankful for God's grace.

      I'm not going to try my best, I am going to do my best because trying gets you nowhere but doing what you can gets your somewhere.

God is showing me to be a doer and a giver and not someone who only tries. I'm refreshing the way I'm trying to accomplish things by doing what I can. I am learning to take one step at a time instead of being overwhelmed, doing one small thing followed by one more small thing.

      It is simple in a hard way, you do what you can, in the time you have, for the glory of God.

Try- make an attempt or effort to do something.

      I don't want to live life half-hearted, and settle. I am putting my trust in the Lord, giving my all to my Savoir. I am going to trust the Lord.

     We are human and we will fail but that doesn't mean we are worthless it just means we need God's grace and His strength. We must disconnect our failures and sins from our identity. As Christians our identity is not in what we do, how much we try, what our bodies look like or how rich we are, but our identities are in Christ Jesus. All our trying with be in vain if we are trying to please people.  Let your aim be to please the Lord. God will make you whole, give you peace, and fill you with joy as you glorify Him.

Galatians 6:9  ESV

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

P.s. I wrote this a few months ago and now I finally got around to posting it, better late than never, right? :)

Hard Week // Heavy Heart

My close friend, Deanna messaged me Saturday night saying her mom had a stroke and to pray for her.

I prayed..and prayed...

Sunday, she asked for prayer for her dad, for wisdom. Marie, Deanna's mother was unresponsive and the stroke had been massive.

My heart broke, for my friend, and for her family.

I cried and the tears rolled down my cheeks.

Then Monday the news came.

She is with the Lord...

I couldn't believe it, I still can't believe it.

To say she will be missed is an understatement. To say She was the kindest and most selfless soul is an understatement.

She made everyone's day with her sweet hugs, words of blessings and thoughtful conversation.

Marie, so full of the joy of the Lord.

I rest in knowing she has perfect peace now, for she is with the One who loves her most. I think everyone who met her could't help but love her, I couldn't help but love her. Praise God from who all blessings flow, she will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.

I ache and my heart is heavy for my dear friend Deanna. I hurt for the whole family, they lost their sweet and precious Marie.

There is peace in this sorrowful time, because we will see her again and it will be wonderful.

Easter Sunday 2016

      Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again! So often I feel I forget how important Easter is, EASTER IS THE BEST DAY EVER! This is the day that we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead! Is nothing more amazing? Jesus bore the weight of our sins, conquered the cross and rose from the dead on the third day! Great is the Lord's faithfulness and trustworthy are His promises! It is a day of  immense joy and calls for abounding thanksgiving. Christ paid for our sins! We can rest in the Lord's peace and know that Jesus has not only risen from the dead but He will come again!

John 11:25-26English Standard Version (ESV)

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.[a] Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Quiet Time // God is good

                     Spirit lead me where my faith would be tested and made steadfast.

      Through God's grace the more I seek Him the fuller I become. Full of desire for Christ and a want to bring glory to God.

God is good.

He is holy.
He is faithful.
He is mighty
He does not love our sin but He loves us.
He loves us with out ceasing.

Lamentations 3:22-24(ESV)

 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
 they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
    “therefore I will hope in him.”
